Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Damage
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the widespread outages.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the region, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - numerous rescue reports
- Wyndham region - 179 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
