In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden group.

The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Transformations

The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Update

This release also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
